Chaubatia Garden 'Orchard Country' - Ranikhet
Chaubatia, 50 km from Almora, is popularly known as 'Orchard Country' for its fruits. Spread over an area of 265 acres, Chaubatia is one of the largest horticulture gardens in India that houses the Government Fruit Research Centre. There are 36 varieties of apples grown in Chaubatia of which four are exported. However, the main attraction of Chaubatia is its commanding view of the snow clad peaks of Himalayas- Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nandaghunti and Nilkanth; it can be enjoyed on a clear morning.
The Bhalu dam is another attraction located near Chaubatia. Bhalu Dam is famous for an artificial lake; it is a beautiful picnic spot.
