    The Endeavour wows Los Angeles

My wife and I were debating whether we'd even be able to get to where the shuttle was making its way - it seemed like the city was warning people to stay away. But after some creative driving, we discovered quite the opposite situation, there was a street party going on! The whole neighborhood was out in force, music blaring, kids on bikes, parents on porches, sidewalks littered with portable chairs and beverage remnants. Everyone was out to cheer the aging veteran on its final voyage.

When the shuttle first appeared, it looked astonishingly huge, wingspan taking the entire roadway (and Los Angeles roads are NOT small.) As it passed we got a close look at the many scars from all its travels. It made us proud to see "United States" emblazoned on the side as we thought about all it has done. Congratulations, NASA.
