I have a question, about something I think could help our Country

I have been watching this administration spending stimulus money on a lot of individual companies that I don't see to be of any value to the US citizens. I mean electric cars, solar panels, and windmills have been around for many years and have never managed to become worthy enough to flood the population with their products.
Do you think that if they would have spent that money on repairs to our infrastructure it would have helped our economy and our people much more? Wouldn't that have employed more people around the whole country. It would have required engineers, truck drivers, iron workers, road crews, pipe mills, power companies, concrete industry, literally everyone on earth would have benefited from doing it in this way, or is there something that I have overlooked that would not let this idea work. I mean we do need our waterlines replaced, gas lines, water treatment plants, etc. And then this along with Romney if he gets elected he will start drilling oil, mining coal, I believe all this together would create a fast growing economy and get people back some of their pride and dignity.
