    Blizzard Conditions at 12,000 ft.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     revloc snapped some panoramic photos at the summit of Independence pass between Aspen and Leadville, Colorado, this weekend. High winds created drifts of snow across the road, which made driving conditions difficult, he said. 'It was a reminder that high altitude weather is a lot different than what we see at lower elevations. It was in the 70s at my house at 6700 ft elevation on Sunday.' revloc lives 150 miles away in Castle Rock, Colorado. Is severe weather happening where you are? Share your images.
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

I drove over Independence Pass yesterday with a friend of mine. It connects Aspen, Colorado and Leadville, Colorado. The road reaches a top altitude just over 12,000 ft. The wind was screaming up there and my face was getting blasted with ice crystals. It was snowing and snow drifts were blowing across the road. There was an abandoned and wrecked car up there. It must've lost control on the ice. Amazing, considering how nice the weather is at my home in Castle Rock, Co. It's in the high 70s today. The 1st 2 photos are taken at the top. The last photo was taken on the drive up.
