Langston University Gala - An Evening with Brian McKnight - Part I

A Soulful Evening of Song with Brian McKnight at Langston University’s Gala

Singer, Songwriter, Producer-----Mr. Brian McKnight brought his one-man show to Cox Center in Oklahoma City for Langston University’s Gala / Homecoming / Student Scholarship Fundraiser celebration.

Brian’s sensuous R&B tones wooed the sold-out audience of alumni, friends and students of the university. In particular----a very special young lady by the name of Erika Hinton-Abertha was selected in the audience and was entertained personally by Brian singing ‘Crazy Love’ as the audience joined in singing. We swayed, swooned and ahhhh’d as Erika smiled to the personal tune dedicated to her which ended with a bouquet of flowers and a kiss.

Brian shared a melody of tunes from over the years. He started his career in the church in Buffalo, NY but has had a very successful music career and has released 13 albums to date, with several going 2 and 3x platinum. He has sold over 20 million albums worldwide. Not only does Brian have a melodious voice----he plays nine instruments including piano, guitar, bass, drums, percussions, trombone, tuba, flugelhorn and trumpet. Brian McKnight brought to Langston’s Gala his one-man show which lived up to / exceeded everyone’s expectations of the quality of entertainment for the evening.

Brian was very up close and personal with the audience. He shared his musical journey through his songs. He also entertained with story-telling that made everyone smile and laugh. He ended the evening encouraging the students not to let anything get in the way of their dreams…..cause he was a ‘living musical legend’ that proved---dreams do coming true.

'Jammin Jay Lamont' opened up for Brian Knight and thoroughly had all of us laughing out loud! Brian also lit up the stage and shared a 'special dance' with Ms. Sharron Jackson.

Thank you Mr. Brian McKnight----sooooo enjoyed the ‘musical moment in time’. You don’t need anyone to accompany you. Your one-man show delivers!
