    Sound-off

    Raising Awareness

I found a Facebook page yesterday that contained the most shocking and utterly distasteful material on it that I had ever seen; the creator of the page, an overweight man named Carl Sherburne, was openly mocking a young girl's suicide and the circumstances that led to it. The page is called 'R.I.P Bleach' and its content largely consists of Internet memes about Amanda Todd drinking bleach, or killing herself, or of her doing other things that led to her suicide. If many of you did not know, Amanda Todd killed herself on October 10, 2012, in Canada. She was the victim of endless bullying and torment. The creator posts statuses that look like poems that take their inspiration from the theme song of the 'Fresh Prince of Belair' or from songs by Wallpaper. These are some of the things I saw that were so disturbing to me, that made me report this page to Facebook, encourage my friends to do the same, and me to emaile the FBI Field Office with information on the page. I have a voice, and I am using it to raise awareness that there is hate in the world, that there are people who do not care about others, or how they feel. I would encourage you to repor the page as well; but for now, I want the world to see how awful this person really is.
