CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter Ikeobuzor a US citizen, travelled to the towns of Odioku-Ahoada in Rivers State, Nigeria, to assist his relatives after flooding devastated the area. The video shows people wading through flood waters on what used to be a main road to another local village. "I went out there to be part of the search, rescue, and evacuation effort by the community," he said. "The road is completely submerged and is now a deep stream. Access is only possible by canoe/boat." He says government refugee camps set up to assist those displaced are often very far from those affected. There are a lot of old, sick and injured people still stuck in some affected communities, and who are unable to get to these refugee camps. "The space is inadequate to accommodate all the displaced people, the conditions are very unhygienic and inappropriate, and there is risk of an outbreak of infectious diseases," he says. Nigerian President Jonathan Goodluck, who toured the affected areas last week, said the Nigerian government was doing "everything possible" to assist those affected.
