Hallstatt, Austria – A fairytale village part 1

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter Matt Swinden snapped these beautiful images of the pictureque village of Hallstatt in Austria, where he and his wife were visiting family. "This was our first visit to Hallstatt and we absolutely loved it," said Swinden, who is originally from Evergreen in Colorado. "What was memorable about this trip was that the local shooting club was celebrating their final day of shooting for the season - which includes a parade through town and a boat trip - and had invited us along for the celebration." As for the skulls, they come from a famous 'bone church' in the town, which has the skulls of hundreds of former residents on display, all painted with their names and death dates. Swinden's first image was selected as CNN's Travel Photo of the Day for January 2, 2013!
