    Election 2012: Your stories

    More from patriley2010

    Paul Ryan has Landed

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     patriley2010 photographed these images of a Paul Ryan victory rally at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 15. The University of Cincinnati college student has been following politics since the seventh grade and is very excited to be voting in his first presidential election, he said. He and his girlfriend decided to skip class to catch a glimpse of the vice presidential hopeful in person. The Romney/Ryan plane landed right next to where the rally was being held and it was exciting to see Ryan run out and greet the crowd.

He says the rally turned into a surprise luncheon for Romney/Ryan supporters with the food being catered from Montgomery Inn, a Cincinnati favorite. He says Ryan was very personable and served almost the entire crowd while taking pictures and making conversation. 'He saw that my girlfriend was wearing a University of Cincinnati shirt and asked us how they were doing and we talked for about 25 seconds,' he said. Seeing Ryan, and Romney days earlier, 'refueled my fire and passion for this election, sparking me to get motivated to go out and sign up to volunteer for them.'

This election, patriley2010 will be voting the Romney/Ryan ticket, as he feels confident in Romney's plan to make sure the country is energy independent, thus creating more jobs.

Since the start of the 2012 election "Political Season," I have always identified myself with the Romney Ryan ticket. After watching the first Presidential Debate, it reminded me of, and solidified, what I really believed in. The Vice Presidential Debate also had the same effect on me.
On Saturday, October 13, 2012 I went to the Mitt Romney victory rally in Lebanon, Ohio. When Mitt Romney was done speaking, he walked around the crowd and shook the hands of those who came to support him. It was clear, by the look on his face, he was extremely happy to be where he was at that exact point in time. As I stood there watching him, I experienced something that many do not get a chance to experience...a sort of an unseen moment, where Mitt stopped amidst the excited crowd to hug and speak to a disabled man. That is the kind of moment you rarely get to see, not even from the photos in the papers or magazines.
On Monday, October 15, 2012 I went to a Paul Ryan victory rally at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati, Ohio. Paul Ryan arrived in his airplane and, just as the music started playing, he exited the plane and excitedly ran over to the podium. Once he began speaking, he asked how everyone was doing and then proceeded to say, “O-H” and the crowd responded, “I-O”. His response to the crowd, “I love that, man, even a Miami University grad likes to do that every now and then!" Throughout his speech he really made a connection to everyone in the audience and it was obvious he held their (our) attention the whole time. When he was finished speaking, he went on to serve hundreds of people from the crowd food from Montgomery Inn, a Cincinnati favorite. He also made conversation with people and took photos while serving the food. He noticed my girlfriend was wearing a University of Cincinnati shirt and asked us how the football team was doing this season and we talked for a bit.
Seeing my candidates in person refueled my fire and passion for this election, sparking my motivation to go out and sign up to volunteer for them.
