    The Hajj: Have you been?

    An unforgettable experience

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter Lasun, who is originally from Nigeria but currently working as a lecturer in Malaysia, said the Hajj - which he undertook in 2003 - was for him a truly transformative experience. "It changed my view of life and the need to move closer to God," he says. For those planning their own Hajj pilgrimage, he has some simple advice: "Devote more time to spiritual upliftment and less time to worldly pursuits."
    - sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer

My first Hajj was February 2003 from Nigeria. With over 2 million other Muslims, the scene was awe-inspiring. Everywhere was white, that symbol of purity. There was no distinction on the basis of race, country or colour of the skin. One can feel the presence of the Almighty God as we perform the religious rites. I pray and wish to repeat the pilgrimage again and again.
