The Fork in the Road
Update: The fork was removed by the city Wednesday and later replaced with a sign that said "Why the fork not?" That sign came down, too, but then Thursday, a normal-sized plastic fork appeared on a nearby road sign. The iReporter headed over to contribute, and shot these photos. I live in San Diego County , specifically La Costa Ca.
As you turn off of El Camino Real on to Levente St you drive up a wide stretch of road towards Anellio as you approach this intersection the road goes right and it veers left which creates a natural Fork in the road as I am sure there are 1,000s of forks in the road like this in the United States.
What I bet is none or few have a Literally Six Foot Fork in the road !!
Today as I approached this fork in the road I noticed a shiny silver/aluminum looking utensil standing upright at the junction of the road. As I slowed down I noticed it was a FORK , the Fork was mounted on a steel base to support it and attached to the asphalt.
Sometime either Monday night or Tuesday some very creative , ingenious and crafty neighbor( i assume) mounted the FORK ...The fork is made out of wood and seems to be well constructed.....I parked and took a few photos...As I was shooting 4-5 more cars stopped to look and take shots as well.....So the Lesson learned, When you have a Fork in The Road Build one for Display !!!
