When president obama raised the minimum wageto$7.25 per hour and then to $9.50 an hour for middle income people the republicans rejected that policy. Republicans are not and will never look out for poor people. They just believe the poor should always sit at the foot of the rich and wait to be thrown a bone. It's like slavery all overn again.
