Kintla Lake Colors
Tucked into the Northwest corner of Glacier National Park is Kintla Lake. Just shy of 1700 acres, it is the fourth largest lake inside the parks borders. Getting there can be challenging if you do not have a four wheel drive... but the scenery is by far some of the best you will find this time of year in Northwest Montana.
Tips: (from experience)
Bring a hand or chainsaw, as winds pick up and often drop standing dead trees across the narrow one lane dirt and gravel road. Bring plenty of water, and be prepared for drastic weather changes.
Check with a ranger station to get up to date road conditions.
