Catholics vs Mormons: The Real Holy War
Move over Utah. Playing against you is not really a legitimate Holy War. Enter Notre Dame. Both School are now independent in football not associated with any conference. Both schools are private and religious. Notre Dame located in South Bend, Indiana is home to the Catholics and Brigham Young in Provo, Utah is home to the Mormons.
These two football teams have met only six times, the last being in 2005, not much of a rivalry even though it would be natural to have one. Yet the two religions as well as the two schools have collaborated, especially recently, on many charitable fronts such as assisting the poor, the less fortunate, and disaster relief. Today a rivalry begins with a nine game series running through the 2020 season.
