    Orionid Meteor Shower and the Remnants of Halley's Comet

    I was four years old when Halley's Comet last passed near the Earth back in 1986. It sounds unreal, but I remember going outside with my family and trying to find the faint fuzz in the sky. I have since become very fond of astronomy over the last few years and have just recently purchased a beginners camera for astrophotography. Here are just a few photos that I took during the Orionid meteor shower, the remnants of Halley's Comet. My brother and I drove about an hour out into the west desert of Utah. The photos were taken on October 21st at approximately 3am. I took them using a Canon T2i. All are single exposures that vary between 10 and 30 seconds. You can even make out the Andromeda Galaxy in one of the photos.
