As you approach the Associated Modelers of Arvada, air field in Colorado ,you quickly realize that this is serious business for these folks. You pass several small weather stations as you approach the main pilot check in. It is indeed important for the safety of the pilots and public as well as the cost of replacing the equipment.
The airplanes run anywhere from $ 39,99 for a small battery operated model from Walmart to $100,000 for a jet. There are RC Jets which use the airfield in Arvada but not too often, even though the group has a paved fairly long run way, many are longer to accommodate the jets speed.
On Saturday the air field was used as a practice
site for those wishing to hone their aerobatic skills for an upcoming competition. The maneuverability of these planes is equaled only by skill required to perform the elements to compete it is simply amazing. It is truly a blend of experience, technology, and natural-ability.
