I Stand With Lance Armstrong and His Work to Help Cure Cancer
What has happened in America where we rush to pile on an American cycling hero, like Lance Armstrong,?
What has he done but to inspire millions to Live Strong and fight?
Buzz Bissinger wrote an interesting article at the Daily Beast that touched me.
I was wondering what allegations against Lance Armstrong were made and if any tests had come back positive to prove what the Doping Agency had suggested he was guilty of when I came across Bissinger's story.
He talks about how Lance Armstrong had inspired his son to ride.
In the story, Buzz's son asked why so many had turned against Armstrong.
It made him do some research as I was doing and both Buzz Bessinger and I came to the same conclusion.
It was a witch hunt.
In over 500 unannounced tests, not once did the tests prove positive.
The decision to accuse Armstrong was based on accusations from acquaintances that had themselves tested positive on numerous occasions.
But never Lance Armstrong.
Lance Armstrong's decision to not continue fighting had nothing to do with his admitting guilt. But instead, it reflects an attitude of, "Enough is enough".
My sons also started riding because of Lance Armstrong.
I ride bike all the time because it's fun.
Lance Armstrong has achieved something few ever have and then turned that success into an organization that helps others survive from cancer.
Armstrong has battled back from near impossible odds to be stripped titles by some little people That built themselves up by tearing someone greater than them down.
These people may strip Armstrong of his titles with no evidence of wrongdoing but they will never strip him of his victories on and off the field.
I stand still with Lance Armstrong.
Read the story by Buzz Bessinger here:
"To hell with the doping charges. Lance Armstrong performed miracles. Stop tearing down our idols. Why I still believe."
