This iReport is part of an assignment:
Obama selects Biden |
kteachums
Whoever Senator Obama would have chosen to run with would have been fine with me. But, I am extremely happy that it was a man with such a lifetime committment to public service. When I watched the report about his life last night my heart went out to him. What a testimony he is to public service. Senator Obama said in his speech that this election has never been about him. He told us it is about "you". He has surrounded himself with qualified professionals from each walk of life. Biden is one of those people. As an older school teacher I watch the young people, listen to their voices. I listened to Biden's son. What a respect he had for the father who had raised him. Sometimes in my own classroom I sit back and watch the young student teachers take over with new ideas and am astonished at their achievements. I think that is how Biden will serve Obama. He will give advice but, allow him to lead. He will do this because he is a father of sons and knows what it takes to encourage the best of the best from them. I will cast my vote for the Democratic ticket in November and hope and pray that these two skilled men can bring our country where it needs to be. But, as an American I will do my part to serve my country, under the great leadership they will provide if they are elected.
