I'm an independent voter because I was raised Republican in Texas and married a Democrat from NJ. I've never been one for dogma, and don't feel like any 'side' could represent my free will well enough to go straight ticket. I've voted Reagan, Bush, Perot (twice), Gore and Obama. I just don't know if I'll ever say I'm affiliated with one party. It's too restricting. So in the spirit of independence by Americans who broke away from political dogma in the 1700s, I'm proud to be unaffiliated.
