Berlin Opens Memorial to Sinti and Roma Holocaust Victims

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Long time iReporter markpel took these images of notables in Berlin, Germany arriving for the inauguration of a memorial to Roma (Gypsy) and related Sinti victims of the Holocaust. The event, in Berlin's Tiergarten park, was attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Roma survivors of the tragedy. The unveiling of the memorial comes after several years of disputes over its design and budget. "It has taken a long time but it is good that it is now ready," our iReporter says. "It has sparked a lot of interest in Germany."
