    Calling early voters

Finally Got This Weight Off My Shoulders!!!

    Name: Byron Thomas
    Age: 20
City, State: North Augusta, South Carolina
Why you chose to vote early:

I’m a college student and my home is two hours away. I wanted to vote early so I could really focus on reaching out to people, on why this election is super important. I don't care whether you vote for Obama or Romney, as long as your voting I'm happy. Remember, people have died for us to have the right to vote. Every vote does count and i tell people “If you don’t vote, then don’t complain. You didn’t want to give your opinion when it mattered, so don’t give your opinion when all is said and done.”

Who you voted for: Mitt Romney

The biggest issue for you in this election:

I had to think long and hard about this. I’m not going to lie I personally get threatened and attacked by people from both sides, if I say why one candidate is better than the other. My family, relatives, and church family are pulling for Obama but majority of my friends and their families are pulling for Mitt Romney. I always get caught in the cross hairs but I never back down. Matter of fact my pastor asked me was I still voting for Mitt Romney and that I was included in that 46%-47% group Mitt Romney was talking about. Also, I definitely don’t want people thinking I would vote for Obama because he does have black in him, but I always tell people Obama is the first mixed President. When it came right down to it, I really don’t feel comfortable with either candidate. The economy is on everyone’s mind and majority of people will put the blame on the President. My blame mostly goes to congress because I feel if congress worked together, this country wouldn’t be in the situation we are in now. If congress sets aside this attitude of I’m only voting Republican or I’m only voting Democrat, then they could actually focus on working together and getting America back on track. Remember, if a President veto’s a bill, congress still has the power to overturn it. But that can’t happen until congress starts working together. Next I went with issues I care alot about dealing with Abortion and Gay Marriage. First, I just can’t kill a baby or vote for someone that agrees with it. I believe every baby deserves a chance at life, because you never know what potential that baby has. Just imagine a world without Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and tons of other leaders that have shaped this country and also the world. We probably have missed out on a lot of future leaders, doctors, lawyers, teachers, or etc just because those babies weren't given that chance. I want to view America as a responsible nation. To me its plan and simple, if you don't want a baby or not ready for one, then don't have sex. Our nation seems to not want to be responsible, and I’m not happy about it. Yes, people want to say “well what if she gets raped” that argument is less than 5% I believe. Life starts when the sperm hits the egg. I refuse to see abortions turned into another form of birth control. I also hate Planned Parenthood. So abortion was very big for me. Next, came my issue with Gay marriage. I respect everyone and love everyone because that’s what Jesus commanded us to do. But I just truly feel marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman. If God wanted a man to marry a man, then he probably would have created Steve instead of Eve. But no, God created Eve second. So, my stance on Gay marriage was also another deciding factor. Then there were other little things that came into play dealing with foreign policy, military actions, and the liberties of the American people. I’m happy to have finally gotten that weight of voting off my shoulders. Now, it’s just time to wait and see how other Americans feel. Let me also say this, if you're the type of person that's going to vote for Obama because he has black in him SHAME ON YOU!!! If you’re not voting for Obama just because he does have black in him, then SHAME ON YOU!!! Yall are the reasons why racism is still in this country. Kill People with Kindness and May God Bless America
