I am an Independent because...
I chose to be an Independent several years ago because I cannot relate to either the Democratic or Republican parties. I choose to vote for the candidates of either party if I agree with their platform and values which relate to me specifically. In the current presidential election I will vote for President Obama again. I feel that he is an honest man and is trying to do everything he can to bring us back from the brink of disaster. However, the Republicans have blocked most of his efforts because they wanted him out from the beginning and even said that they will make him a one term president. This is not how the politicians should represent us...they care more about getting a "black" man out of the White House than they do about reviving the nation. It is despicable. I hope the voters are paying close attention to who voted "ney" on those issues and will not vote for them again, no matter what party they are affiliated with.
Clearly Romney/Ryan will not represent us as a nation with the same values I have. Romney changes his platform with whatever way the wind is blowing and has no roots except in $$$. He & Ryan pledge to erase Roe vs. Wade because they want the nation to follow their beliefs, that is not how a country should be run. All people do not believe in all things. Abortion and a woman's right to choose her path is her decision only. She has the right to contraceptives to try to avoid making that decision.
Romney says he wants to create 12M jobs, is he for real?? If that were true, wouldn't he be doing that now as a patriot? Instead he buys companies, takes them into bankruptcy and sends all our citizen jobs to China or some other off shore company and makes millions in doing so. I believe that is what he would do if he were president. And we still have not seen his tax records beyond 1 year. 2011 will be amended when election season is over, mark my words. How is it that someone in his monetary position pays less in taxes than I do. I'm not saying he is cheating the government, but in a way he is because he has a vast amount of cash in banks overseas to avoid the taxes the rest of us pay.
Romney/Ryan are war mongers, but if you listened to the last debate you would think he was a dove. This man, Romney, has something seriously mentally wrong with him. He has no real values and changes his position on everything he has said. Does he not realize that he was being filmed/recorded when he pushed certain values? Does he really think that windows on a plane could open?? I truly believe he meant what he said during that fund raiser where he was recorded regarding the 47% of us. And he had the nerve to say he was joking when he said in a stump speech about he and his wife being born in the US, intimating that the pres was born outside this country. And Ryan is a fake, he is just scary. When he went to that soup kitchen unannounced and, for the cameras, put on an apron and started to wash "clean" pots. Everyone had already been served and left and the kitchen had been scrubbed clean. I love the shot of him putting dish washing liquid on a sponge and rubbing it over a pot once and then spraying it with water!! This man is despicable. His plan to do away with Medicare & SS as we know it instead of making it more solvent is obscene. Romney wants to do away with ObamaCare, but it is the same plan he put into effect in MA when he was governor there. How despicable is that?? These men have been caught in so many lies it is unbelievable.
Romney thought he would look presidential when he made that speech when the Libyan consulate was overrun and our ambassador and 3 others were killed. How can you go on TV and put down the president without knowing any of the details. The bodies were still warm for God's sake. As a president you do not rush to judgement and say it was a terrorist attack until you know for sure what happened. You cannot put another country in the crosshairs just to make a political statement to look "presidential".
Romney & Ryan are not good for our country and if their followers vote for them just because they are Republican then they are fools. I believe President Obama will once again try his best to bring us out of the abyss and maybe this time the Republicans will represent their constituents because they will have their wish and this will be the last term for President Obama. We can only pray they will.
These are the reason I am an independent voter. I see both sides of the coin and evaluate all their platforms and what they claim to represent. The pres seems to be working to help our country and no one can be expected to heal us in 4 short years when we had more than 8 years of spending and 2 wars which we had no business being in (and were lied to by Republicans then too) because of the "false" claim of WMD's. One more thing, Romney praised Cheney and wished he could choose him as his vice president. Cheney is evil and for Romney to say he wanted him as his VP if it were possible just shows where his head is at. He surrounds himself with people from the Bush years. Do you really think our country would be in better condition if Romney were president? I know we would probably be in 2 new wars, 1 with Iran and 1 with Syria and possibly Libya too. There is WWIII my friends. That is why I am leaning toward President Obama.
