Election 2012: Your stories |
I am an energy voter who was disappointed
I don’t have a multinational corporate budget for production so please just hear me out.
Throughout the debates I was waiting to hear how each candidate planned to address climate change, but heard very little. Oil-rich Saudi Arabia has a plan to be 100% powered by renewable sources, Germany is already over 50% powered by renewables and China is cornering the market on solar panels. President Obama is the only candidate who came close to this subject. The US economy can be fueled for decades by innovative new ways to get energy and conserve energy. Digging up fossil fuels and natural gas will only get riskier as these resources become scarcer. It is not a good strategy to fuel an economy on a handful of very volatile commodities. Surly our leaders know this, why no stategy?
Last Night I caught climate-of-doubt on public TV. Watch this and you too will learn why climate change was not debated. After your watch it, you will want to spread the word about Climate of Doubt. If I can create a webcam video so can you.
