    Socially liberal, fiscally conservative

    I grew up in a conservative home (the whole family just took a "where do you fall on the political spectrum?" quiz, and I was the only one who didn't fall on the far right). I personally align with the attitude and mentality of the Democratic party a lot more (caring for those in need, equality issues), but from a fiscal sense, I generally align with the Republican party (smaller government, less spending, etc.). That leaves me stuck in the middle to decide which issues I consider most important for our country at this time, and to vote accordingly.
