Tindel Pumpkins: Custom for OU's Fall Arts Festival
These festive, hand-carved pumpkins were custom made by local Atlanta artist, John Tindel, for Oglethorpe University's first annual Fall Arts Festival. Tindel is a visual artist and designer, a member of Sunday Southern Art Revival, and he makes up half of the duo, TINDELMICHI: Two Fat Southern Boys Who Paint.© I was blown away by the complexity and layering of Tindel's work as I browsed a sample of his collection and watched him paint live on my campus' Academic Quad. I had a lengthy conversation with Tindel about his unique style, which he himself describes as a sort of compulsion, an artistic addiction if you will, that communicates in a manner which references stream of consciousness.
