Ed Hochuli's Incompetence Wins Game for Broncos

Had it not been for the gross incompetence of NFL official Ed Hochuli, the San Diego Chargers would have chalked up a much deserved win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

However, having NFL official Ed Hochuli on the side of the Broncos proved to be too overwhelming and the Broncos walked away with a  39-38 win over the Chargers.

Hochuli's initial blow to the Chargers was when he called a catch by Chris Chambers a catch and fumble, which was recovered by Champ Bailey of the Broncos. The call could not be reviewed due to an alleged "equipment malfunction" that made instant replay review unavailable.

Hochuli's hyjinks continued when he made his most blatant  error in judgement as he blew the whistle as Denver quarterback Jay Cutler fumbled the ball, which was recovered by San Diego's Tim Dobbins. Although the play was reviewed with the "available again" replay booth, Hochuli called the ball dead at the 10 yard line and gave possession back to the Broncos. Although he admitted that it was a fumble, he couldn't disregard his own error in a call that clearly favored Denver due to NFL regulations.

The result was San Diego being robbed of their win in what was perhaps the greatest screw job in NFL history.
