Why are you an independent? |
Independents are NOT controlled by or OBLIGATED to political parties or special interests !
" A politician is one that would circumvent God. "
William Shakespeare
An independent politician may not be perfect or ideal or even the best choice but at least the voters know that he or she is NOT answerable to a political machine who regard members as mere pawns to be used for the ultimate, hidden objectives of the party.
I have lived all over the World but NEVER found a politician who was honest, straight talking and who kept their campaign promises !
They smile and shake hands with glee with strangers when running for office then disappear for the most part when elected.
Those who are in a political party MUST oblige the rules and policies of their party's leaders or be shunned and even ostrasized.
The parties always have special interest support usually from wealthy donors who expect favors and special consideration in return for large donations.
Many times we have seen an elected politician ignore the wishes of their constituents and selfishly take care of #1,etc.
The REAL policies and agendas of political organizations are usually camouflaged from the voters.
Most politicians will say and do anything to persuade people to vote for them even resorting to absolute untruths.
Politicians on a whole...are a special creed of folk who are out of touch with the average people who trust and elect them.
The reason I would rather vote for an independent, even though they might have weaker influence and power in government, is because at least I know that they are NOT owned and controlled by others in an organized party...and are more likely to be sensitive to their electorate.
