Manhattan,The Nation Biggest City Weird Week

At about 4:25pm saturday 27,october 2012 I was sitting down in a deli store where I am working as a stock boy in New York. I was always thinking about the election when my thinking and attention was captured by things around me. Customers where coming in buying drinks and were busy talking about the current issue of the city, about a nanny who stabbed the children she was entrusted to look after, how horrible it was, and everyone was letting out their emotion about the horrible incident. I got my hand on the newspaper, the first thing I was the nanny smiling with the children, turning was picture of the neighbor who was in great emotional despair. What a big loss, my heart said. Looking outside the window I was shocked when I saw an asian woman picking cans from the waste the we had put out earlier, she looks like an immigrant fighting for survival just like me, her attention was on the trash, she didn't even think about the election, neither did she think about the nanny horrible story. So I thought for a second that if Romney becomes the president,my brain quickly calculated what the woman's fate would be in the next 4-years. Firstly, she would face deportation due to what Governor Romney had said in his presidential debate and campaign. Secondly, bring the issue of family in play,if she has children, how is she to cope without rest of mind in trash picking, she would be stressed out because she would want to avoid police men which seems to be in every corner of Manhattan street in New York. Finally about the woman, I thought about what I was thought in class about stress, she would end up having stress related disease; cancer, cardiovascular disease, and high blood pressure, which might leads to her death. Her livelihood all depends on the the trash she picks which she can use in exchange for money. Her survival depends on the next presidential election which it seems that she doesn't know. However, the topic of the week in Manhattan right now is the frankenstorm approaching the city,I read about how the weird name was weld together"franken+storm", which means combination of three disasters, wind, sand, and water droplets. In the train, and in the bus, it was the topic people was talking about, an old man was telling a young adult about his experience in previous disaster he had experience. I was challenged with th thinking of how to save everyone, but I felt bad about the fact that I need to work to go back to school, then to help the people of united states. Taking a deep breath, children at risk of safety as a nanny stab two children to death. The live of a woman picking trash depends on the presidential election with or without her realization, and the next disaster, frankenstorm, brings closes among the people both old and young in the city. What a weird week of deep thought. Sent from my BlackBerry® device on the Simple Mobile network
