In-Town Fusion Cuisine
If your idea of a relaxing evening is dinner with another couple on you in-town terrace, then you are in for a treat. Just ten miles from CNN Headquarters in downtown Atlanta or just six miles from the heart of Buckhead is a little known Farmers Market brimming with exotic and fresh vegetables and fish.
I love Mexican and Asian food. I was therefore delighted to discover the Fiesta Farmers Market at Clairmont and Buford Hwy. There you will find every sort of produce at unbelievable prices. Now I know why eating out at some Asian or Mexican restaurants is so affordable. You just have to know where to shop.
Walking through the aisles you see not just the most interesting produce, but you will also meet equally interesting people. They are happy to tell you about what they are buying and how to cook their native delicacies. Whatever your preference, you will find everything from hot Spanish peppers to Shanghai Bok Choy, from Chilli Cascabel and Pulla to Red Shen Choy and Chinese Celery.
Now this is not the place for individuals who prefer everything to be washed and nicely packaged. Here the vegetables look and feels like they were just picked— with roots, dirt and all.
So if you have joined the many who like to try your hand at cooking fusion cuisine, I suggest you make a visit to Fiesta Farmers Market. Your taste buds and your wallet will thank you.
