    7.7 Earthquake BC Canada Tsunami Alert For Hawaii

    BREAKING NEWS: A magnitude-7.7 earthquake has struck near Prince Rupert, BC, Canada.  Oct. 27th around 8:10pm PST.

     

    The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.1 but has been upgraded. The shaking was reportedly felt into Seattle, Wash.

     

    There were no initial reports of injuries or damage.

     

    Location: 126 miles (202 km) SSW of Prince Rupert, BC, Canada; 164 miles (263 km) S of Metlakatla, AK; 172 miles (277 km) SSE of Hydaburg, AK; 452 miles (727 km) NW of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Source: U.S. Geological Survey.

     

     

    A Tsunami Warning/Alert for Hawaii has been issued.
