    'Superstorm' Sandy: Your stories

Georgemia and 14 other iReporters contributed to Open Story: Sandy's damage across the East Coast

Sandy's tides Flood Fort Lauderdale Beach

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Georgemia says although the weather in breezy, sunny and clear in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, much of the highway that goes up the beach, A1A, is flooded and covered with sand and waves. The photos, which were captured on October 28, show the affect of Hurricane Sandy's outer rain bands impacting the city. He says the road is impassible through much of the city. He says the tops of seawalls and storm drains are pouring out sea water onto the streets. 'I would guess hat there are millions of dollars worth of damage to the roads, lifeguard stands, seawalls and other structures,' he said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

A1A is impassible due to high tides and waves washing sand over the beach front highway. All roads are closed along Fort Lauderdale's Strip.
