    'Superstorm' Sandy: Your stories

    More from DesireG

Sandy Neighborhood with Creek Flood Watchers

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DesireG told me, 'There was a lot of wind and ice cold rain. Police officers did not allow trucks or motorcycles to pass on bridges and highways. City workers cleared out any fallen branches and so on. Lastly, streets located near Chester creek were told to evacuate and take shelter in one of the local middle schools (Showalter Middle School) and despite PECO cutting off the gas and electric as a safety measure many people did not leave so I had a chance to talk with two of them as you see in the video.'

PLEASE NOTE: Sandy is an extremely dangerous storm. We urge iReporters to take caution when documenting the storm and follow local guidance. For storm information specific to your area, please monitor warnings issued by your local National Weather Service forecast office.

On deadline today at work so I couldn't do my usual rant. Just got a couple of shots of the creek while on the beat. Even after being told to leave their homes some residents on West 14th Street in Chester PA stayed behind and took their chances. But not without watching the Chester Creek that floods rather easily when it rains. Of course a hurricane can only make it worse. We'll see. So far Sandy hasn’t been too tough on Chester.
