Who is Joining Forces to Restore Services in the Wake of Hurricane Sandy
At 1:30 PM today, there were approximately 6,000 reported power outages in Virginia, over 6 hours before Hurricane Sandy will even make landfall.
As of 8:30 PM there are currently 3831 outages in Hampton Road's cities, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Portsmouth shortly after the enormous storm officially slammed her way into NJ, with wind bands over 600 miles wide stretching inland and flooding other states.
A team of fourteen men traveled from North and South Carolina to assist Dominion Power, which provides electricity for Virginia and North Carolina, by removing limbs and trees blown down by this historic storm in coastal Virginia.
The group was called in to assist Dominion and stopped in South Hill, VA for a quick dinner before making their way east to a stormy Hampton Roads, says "Red," pictured bottom left in the photo.
