Space Shuttle Exhibit Collapses After Sandy

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     hmbshapiro says she took this photo of the space shuttle Enterprise from the window of her 21st floor apartment on Tuesday morning. The Enterprise is on display on the deck of the Intrepid aircraft carrier, which has been converted into an aviation museum on the west side of Manhattan. hmbshapiro says the Enterprise is usually in a bubble-like structure, which was fine yesterday. She says there was a lot of wind overnight and her apartment was creaking and swaying throughout the night.

You can read more about it in CNN's Light Years blog.

PLEASE NOTE: Sandy is an extremely dangerous storm. We urge iReporters to take caution when documenting the storm and follow local guidance. For storm information specific to your area, please monitor warnings issued by your local National Weather Service forecast office.

    - davidw, CNN iReport producer

The space shuttle exhibit on the Intrepid, normally a giant grey bubble from the outside, has completely collapsed due to Sandy.
