The lights are off in Manhattan, south of Midtown due to an explosion at the power plant on 14th street at the East River. The power is the building on the waterfront in Manhattan with the smoke stacks.
The explosion is not visible in these photos however it was captured by multiple video cameras and was shown on-air throughout the night.
