As Hurricane Sandy feasted on major regions of the Eastern seaboard, there was widespread destruction and disruption of Electricity, communication, transit and normal life on the whole.

Here in this video, as you can see, PATH station and other major transportation systems are not operational at this point. What is supposed to be extremely busy on weekdays, with hundreds of people at any given moment in the PATH station, here on Tuesday it's completely deserted.

There is extensive power outage in Jersey City and many other parts of NJ. Some policemen that I was speaking to about cab service, said that the city was in a "State of emergency". Medics, police and other help groups are constantly seen patroling the streets of the city making sure there is nobody hurt, stranded or in distress.

Due to widespread flooding in the PATH tunnels and multiple stations, as well as power outages that have shut down signals and switches, PATH rail service continues to be suspended. PATH engineers, staff and third party contractors are working around-the-clock with the goal of resuming partial service between New Jersey and New York as soon as safely possible.
