    'Superstorm' Sandy: Your stories

    Commute to Queens

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     TV producer and Long Island City, Queens, resident Jack Cole captured this poignant video of himself and his wife on Wednesday evening walking home across the 59th Street Bridge from Manhattan after work, due to public transport still struggling after Superstorm Sandy. "It was a strange, surreal moment to walk across the bridge on Halloween," he said. "It was a great New York moment - we looked at each other and said 'we love this city'. We don't get to focus on how lovely the city is as we work so hard, so it was a nice opportunity to have that moment with other New Yorkers." He and his wife hunkered down in their home for the storm, which ripped the roof off a neighboring building and flooded local businesses. "We felt safe but realised it was a big moment [for the city] he said.
