Women and the "Yes Dear" Vote

In the upcoming election for President many people have been talking about how women will likely be the deciding factor on which candidate, Obama or Romney, will win the White House.

Many polls show Obama having a slight lead over Romney when it comes to the American female vote. But I have to wonder, from my personal experience if that lead isn't far more than the polls show.

My sister, step mother, 4 friends and 3 coworkers, all women have confessed to me that while at home, they go along with their husbands’ views politically if that view is one that supports the Republican Party.

They say "yes dear, you're right dear" and then go about their business. But when talking with me in confidence they roll their eyes when talking about supporting a Republican candidate.

They tell me, "I don't want any trouble at home and he's crazy when it comes to politics (speaking of their husbands). He will get so angry if I say anything positive about Obama that I avoid it all together."

I ask them all who they were actually going to vote for, and they all replied, "Obama", but to never let their husbands know.

After thinking about it for awhile I also wondered how many "Yes Dear" votes from women were actually out there in the general population that are going to Obama without their husbands knowing.

    I suppose Nov 8th, we'll know.
