    'Superstorm' Sandy: Your stories

    Margate City and Ventnor Spared

    http://google.org/crisismap/2012-sandy

Please explain why Ventnor and Margate City escaped the wrath of hurricane Sandy. Click the link above and see Google Earth's 10-31-2012 map. I put Margate City
on the location box and switched to satellite view. If you zoom in you will see a little bit of sand blown off the beach. The Margate boardwalk is still there and the boats are still undestrurbed in their slips in the marina (bay side of island).

A fine dining restaurant, Steve and Cookie's by the bay looks ok too.

By the way, Lucy the Elephant (65 foot National Monument) is right on the beach and is undesturbed also. Margate City is only 8.3 south of Atlantic City and 3 miles south of where the eye came onshore.

    Nature is unreal.
