    'Superstorm' Sandy: Your stories

    Friday morning in New York.

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Software consultant and Wisconsin resident jmgasper was on a cruise ship heading to New Jersey when he captured the extraordinary New York City skyline, still partly in darkness after SuperStorm Sandy caused severe power cuts. He and his fellow cruise passengers have been glued to coverage of the storm since they set sail from Quebec City, Canada, last month, although they have not been unduly affected. "We were in Canada for most of the cruise and were a little north of the majority of the storm, " he said. "We were scheduled to be in Bar Harbor, Maine, on Tuesday, but the seas were too rough to make the trek from St. John New Brunswick, so we stayed overnight in St. John. The seas were a little rough on Wednesday and Thursday as we cruised from St. John to Portland, Maine and then Portland to New Jersey."

Taken from a cruise ship this morning. Still a lot of dark buildings.
