A Government Apart
When this country was founded it was founded on some very basic human principles. That all men, really meaning people, are created equal, and that Church and state were no longer to be married. In other words, our morals, ethics and religious beliefs were to be completely removed from our governmental restrictions and laws. Therefore, my vision for our country is the same as it was at its inception. Just as religious factions no longer stone people to death for their crimes, we as a nation must also realize that progress is a necessity or the stagnancy causes us to die by attrition. Government in my opinion, is meant to mandate things that account for the financial, physical and political health of our country. I believe that this means regulating business which has grown to be a size that I believe our forefathers never intended. I believe that it is the duty of a nation to make sure that its residents have the access to healthcare and proper laws to maintain safety and justice. I believe it is the duty of the individual religious institution to dictate the social and moral aspects of our country. As a deeply observant and spiritual person I realize this puts me in the minority but even the laws given in the Hebrew bible are divided into different categories. In the Hebrew bible there are laws of logic, those that keep the community safe and alive and then there are laws of pure faith where we might not be able to, as mere mortals, to understand their reasoning but nonetheless we believe them for they are divine. Government is not divine. Government should be the logical laws we need to keep our country safe and prosperous. Leave the faith to the religious institution and let Government keep the logic.
