This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your vision for America |
Enough Hype, We Need Real Solutions.
My vision for the American future is one where the Office of the President is respected and held in esteem by the incumbent, not one where the they forget to honor the fallen on Memorial Day and plans on going to Chicago to party with his buddies or, even worse, commit acts that are detrimental to the office then tries to deny it when the facts come out. I would like to see a nation where Republicans and Democrats actually do care about this country, with each surrendering their blind pursuit of power and really working together for the good of this nation and its people. I’d like to see a nation where profit is not the only motive for engaging in business, and stewardship of resources for the common good becomes the norm. I dream of an America that becomes stronger economically, with improved infrastructure, with a force ready to defend this nation and our allies against our enemies, and the resolve to win. I would really like to see election campaigns that are based on the true issues, without false promises and skewed statistics. Most of all, I would really like to see campaigns that are free of character assassination. Because when that’s all the candidates can do, they only reveal that they do not have any real solutions and are only engaged in the mindless scramble for power and position as dictated by their respective parties. The Republicans and the Democrats can save this country if they want to, but only by working together. If two vicious dogs fight over a dead rabbit long enough, the carcass will be so savaged that there will be nothing left.
