'Superstorm' Sandy: Your stories |
East River Ferry to Brooklyn
The line on the NY Waterway's East River Ferry reopened yesterday. The line was long around 4:30, but quickly extended as time progressed. The US Coast Guard informed the NY Waterway employees that they would have to shut down operations as of 6pm, which causes a reported 1200 plus commuters to be turned away seeking an alternative means to get home.
The word from the NY Waterway employee this morning is that they may be able to extend service an extra 30 minutes to 6:30, but check for service updates via www.nywaterway.com.
