Tolerance & Cooperation
My vision for America is simple.
I would like to see a decline in partisanship, and a return to the America where we embraced our differances as a strength, but did not exclude those that did not agree with us 100%. We have people and parties that have become slaves to a singular idiology, and pander to extremist views with no tolerance or flexibility for variation of any kind. We have groups with no ability to appreciate our seperation of church and state that provides for the fair and equal right of all to practice religion as they see fit for themsleves and their families, but does force others to adopt their beliefs in order to be treated fairly, or have their voice heard. I am tired of the day after every election, the losing group(s) immediately begining a campaign to discredit the winner by any means possible, even as part of disrespecting the President of the U.S.. I was always led to believe that even if we didnt vote for a candidate, if they won then so be it, the majority had spoken, and we support them for their term to give the winner a chance to prove our vote wrong. We might even try to be optimistic they would in the spirit of supporting our elected leaders.
We have become a country largely of selfish bullies with and agenda of simply winning at all costs for them and "their kind", and no ability to accept their opinions as less than what's popular. We have all but lost our ability to work together in order to get anything done, but even worse maybe, we have lost our ability to embrace our brothers if they dont agree with EVERYTHING we believe in. If it has not already, I am certian this will be the end of the America I know and believe in. We will cease to be the viable "leader of the free world" we have always fancied ourselves, hobbled by the splintered factions that we have become.
