    Your vision for America

    No Party is an Island!!

I believe in the Bipartisan System. It keeps us on course - From going too far to the left or the right. Each party has its strengths, and we cannot thrive without contributions from each party.

Long ago, it was explained to me that if Democratic (Liberal) Ideals were taken to the extreme, we would have Communism - None of our politicians are Communists. If Republican (Conservative) ideals were taken to the extreme, we would have Capitalism - None of our politicians are true Capitalists. Either way, too far to the left or right, we would have Fascism - where the people have no rights or control over their own destiny - No America.

Former President George Bush was one of the most Conservative presidents of all time. He took us very far to the right. So far, in fact, that the Banks, Health Insurance Companies, Wall Street, etc. went out of control with greed. Although the dangers were identified, the "small government" approach, said, "Leave it alone". The Conservative "stand and fight" approach put us into two wars that we could not finance. Our US economy went beyond recession, and was circling the drain and ready to go down into a depression. President Bush did what his advisers told him to do, what President Obama did, and what Governor Romney would have done: You must spend your way out of a recession. After all, a recession is when our economy declines from reduced spending.

I don't want the Republicans to go away, we still need them, but we are not ready to change directions at this time. President Obama has put governmental controls in place to help put Wall Street, Health Insurance, Banks, etc. back in order. He prevented our Automotive Industry from collapse. He is getting us out of the two long wars. Private companies are no longer dropping like flies - In fact the are getting stronger and new ones are being developed. We knew that this would take a dozen or more years to correct. We are back on course, but have a long way to go to the left, before we get back to center.

In my vision of America, both parties have stopped fighting for partisan power, and have begun fighting for those of us who they represent. We, the voters, stop listening to half-truths and start electing the candidate (Republican or Democrat) who truly represents our best interests. Our best interests are as dynamic as the men and women who we put our faith in to serve us.

In my vision, Lobbyists are illegal. Campaign reform insures that anyone who has the support to run for office has the means to compete, even if they were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth.

In my vision, Congress has written a basic Foreign Policy law that every President must follow, one that is an example to all of the world's leaders. Of what is fair and democratic, and what is an act of war.

In my vision, the President's Cabinet members are so talented and goal oriented, that the next President keeps them on the job for their experience - not party alliance.

The sad thing is that my vision is so easily obtained - if only we had the bipartisanship that our forefathers had.

Oh well, lunch time is over. I have to stop dreaming, and get back to work.

    David
