Day of the Dead Parade in New Orleans, LA.

More New Orleans culture. The Day of the Dead is a celebration of those who have died, taken from several cultures including Central American and Vodou (Voodoo). It remembers those who have lived before us, and celebrates their lives. Although it deals with the dead, it does NOT have the mood of a funeral. It's a time to be joyous and commune with the Ancestors. The Day of the Dead is the same day as All Souls Day which is the day following All Saints Day (Halloween).
