Obama’s Vision for America is the Ideal Vision for Any Country in the Modern World
- sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer
As an ‘ardent foreign spectator’ of the ongoing presidential campaigns of both Romney and Obama, I think Obama’s vision for America is the ideal vision for any country in the modern world. I’m from the Philippines and I see Obama as having the aura of moral authority. The US is the only superpower in the world right now, and all the countries look up to America for moral leadership. The US should have a president who displays strong moral leadership, so that America can effectively secure global harmony and international law.
Obama is a champion of international cooperation in solving global problems. Obama strongly believes that there’s a necessity to have a ‘global pact’ that can really seriously curtail extreme carbon- emissions to the atmosphere. Pres. Obama believes that climate change is a ‘national security concern’ for America. His administration has a clear policy on efficiently using ‘clean sources of energy’ to combat global warming. Romney hasn’t yet made a clear stance on global warming or climate change.
Obama’s championing of social justice is worth emulating. Social justice is not about the redistribution of wealth; it’s about giving all the members of the society the chance to become productive and creative. Those who have more in life should pay more taxes than those who have less in life. Such system gives all the members of the society a chance to have access to education, housing, healthcare, good infrastructure and employment opportunity. Social justice is about giving all the members of the society the opportunity to enjoy and experience life, liberty and happiness.
I think Obama is sincere in reforming the US immigration system. Romney has made several flip-flops on the issue of immigration, but Obama is quite consistent with his advocacy of reforming the US immigration system. Obama is seen as quite humane in treating “illegal immigrants”who have long been living as productive and law-abiding citizens in the US.
Obama’s dedication to social justice is ideal to every country in this world. Since the US is the only superpower right now in this world, whatever it says has an impact on every country of this planet. The United States has the biggest influence on global affairs because it is the richest country and has the most capable armed forces right now. I share Obama’s views on international cooperation, combating global warming and promoting social justice. I believe Obama’s vision for America is a good vision for any country in the modern world. I think Obama deserves to be re-elected as President of the United States.
