Republicans Loss of Touch with Reality (and Voters)

Both of my parents and I used to be Republicans and had always voted Republican...that was until 2002. After the 2000 election republicans completely lost touch with reality. They entangled themselves in religion and rhetoric, straying away from their core beliefs. They increased the deficit, started interventionist wars and nearly bankrupt the country with their poor leadership and rampant corruption.

I can't and won't vote for Romney because he offers only empty words and no real viable plan to save the economy. (Giving tax breaks to the rich and cutting medicare is not a panacea to the economy). Our economies problems are multi-faceted and complex. Some new, some old. It's not Obama's fault the economy is like this. There are much deeper underlying issues that have been growing for 50 years.

The republicans need to find touch with the real world and the center of American politics or they are going to find themselves marginalized and continually losing important elections and voters like myself and my parents. Where are the real Republicans and why in the world are they supporting someone like Romney, a Massachusetts liberal?
