Calvert v. Memphis Housing Authority

This was another class action lawsuit involving the  deplorable conditions of public housing. By the 1990s, more than 80% of  MHA units could not pass Housing Quality Standards inspection and  several thousand units were boarded up. Meanwhile, thousands of families  who were eligible for public housing had nowhere to go.  A massive  settlement was reached, calling for bringing all units up to quality  standards, getting vacant properties in habitable condition within a  fixed period of time, extensive lead abatement, and improved security.  The Consent Order also called for aggressive pursuit of federal funding  to replace obsolete, high-density traditional public housing with less  crowded non-traditional models. Since the Consent Order was reached in  1996 almost all of the traditional public housing complexes in Memphis  have been replaced by Hope VI projects.

2004),  summary judgment is granted unless there is evidence that a state actor  had (a) subjective knowledge of a risk of serious harm and (b)  deliberately disregarded that risk. STATE CREATED DANGER 11TH CIRCUIT,  GEORGIA, US.

I also have several times requested Georgia Dept. of Administrative Services Risk Management reopen my Claim # L I 11229215 that they denied back in May of 2011 and did so without a full explanation as to why it was denied as required by law, they just sent me a general form letter which is against the law. All insurance denials must state facts and laws as to why a claim is denied all medical documentation must also be reviewed as well as statements and any other documentation that a claimant has given to the insurer. Due to the facts and proof of injury my family submitted to them in 2011 and again thru HUD and GA DCA by a conciliation attempt by Dennis Williams the Assistant Commissioner of GA DCA Rental Assistance Unit in 2012 the claim should have been paid because GA DCA is liable. GA DOAS knows GA DCA is liable and that they MUST compensate us for the injuries they caused to me and my children.

The walls in these rentals are even falling in on some of these families due to the rot and just rentals in need of serious repair, some have no heat, no gas, no water,  etc. They live as if they are in a third world country.

Convicted PHA manager blames agency's corrupt culture for her crimes

"Kerri Bizzell, a former Philadelphia Housing Authority manager, and  her defense attorney on Wednesday blamed the PHA's culture of corruption  for Bizzell's past criminal behavior in which she extorted $25,000 from  two contractors.

"Ms. Bizzell learned her behavior from those  people who were in more senior positions than she," her federal  defender, Elizabeth Toplin, told U.S. District Judge Mitchell S.  Goldberg at Bizzell's sentencing hearing."

YOU pay for this every single year, and you pay with the money you go out and work 5 days or more out the week to earn in order to get your tax monies sent to the government. Just think "billions" not millions of your tax dollars paying for inhumane housing and reckless treatment of...families with children, the elderly, and the disabled.

The US government thru HUD is a "tax paid" slumlord who is not doing what you pay them to do.

To whom it may concern:

We are a group of people who are fed up with HUD breaking the law, HUD has breached its duty. The laws HUD broke have either affected us personally, thru our family, or thru our friends. WE are the victims Charles E. Grassley refers in a letter dated October  17, 2012 when he stated “Ultimately, it is the residents of public housing who are being cheated and abused as a result of this mismanagement.”

Many of us have been writing federal offices concerning our complaints against HUD and those they fund in housing programs for years. We have been victims of fraud,

abuse, neglect, housing quality standard violation by those who inspect rentals, and we have been oppressed by HUD and those they fund.

What is Congress going to do about the many complaints of HUD corruption and tax dollar waste because of HUD’s breach of duty? From Atlanta to Boston, from California to Texas, and all across America people are demanding justice and that Congress hold those HUD employee's accountable for breaking the law against us.

We have posted our complaints online for the public to see.

We want the justice some of us have been waiting years to get. We hope that Congress will do more than throw out this letter, or send us a form letter for an answer because we demand real answers, and we demand real justice, we have a constitutional right to it.
