    My Marine, My Rock

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     KiMcC shares these thought on her husband, Sergeant Jonathan McConnell. 'Having survived everything from firefights in Iraq to the countless moves and unknowns of military life, he truly appreciates each and every day for what it is and doesn't worry about tomorrow, she says.'He has the most amazing loyalty and trust that whatever tomorrow brings, it will be managed.'
    - Jamescia, CNN iReport producer

We met the day after I arrived for work at the Embassy in Warsaw. The attraction was instant. After only dating a few months, he was transferred to his next assignment. For the next two and half years we wrote letters, emails, sent care packages, talked on Skype and on the phone. Through it all he was stable, comforting, confident and sure. After deployments, battles and constant moves, we found stability in each other, even if thousands of miles apart.

This year we celebrated our first wedding anniversary.

He is my rock. He keeps me grounded. He reminds me to relax, take life as it comes and enjoy each day, because each day truly is a gift.
